It's fun in its own way if you don't mind doing a ton of management. I'm also a fan of the spells in this title, magic was always my favorite path.īasically, my verdict is If you want a "dungeon crawling" game where you spend 80% of your time not actually dungeon crawling, I'd get it. GOG adds in fan patches so the game-breaking problems are mostly, if not entirely, gone. It has a few other pros too here and there. The games loot system, combat, and Black Chest system is also quite good, if not very nonsensical. Another example, how about in Frosgard where there's an ice giant supposedly eating children in his fortress near town? The game even has a few really interesting and fun quests, like the promotion to Lich trudging you through a dangerous Lich Lab where all kinds of crazy sorcery + machinery are interlocking together whilst you battle hordes of undead along the way trying to accomplish a ritual. Almost all the dungeons are a lot of fun, well designed, and even challenging. Lots of quests are really rushed and dumb too, but not all. Almost all the towns are nonsensical and confusing beyond belief, the game is ugly (even for its time, I'm no graphics-hound but come on, games 3 years before it look way better) along with quite a lot of other apparent quirks. So naturally, it shows when you play the game in a LOT of areas.

It's an unfinished game 3do went bankrupt during (or shortly after) the game was completed. I played it back when it was released (Still own my retail CDs) and am actually replaying it now.
