class files with a sequence that the Oracle JVM crashes on. My gut feel is that the Eclipse compiler generates Java 8. At that time we moved from writing Java 7 source code to Java 8 source code (-source and -target set to 1.8). This issue only seemed to start happening the last few days. Important information: I've moved to Java 8 update 92 quite some time ago, and also moved to Eclipse Mars.2 quite some time ago. It seems that this issue is reproducible though, since I am the third one to report it. I found two related bugs, but it seems that one was closed as unreproducible (JDK-8154831 : Eclipse IDE crashes when running on JDK8u92) and the other was closed as a duplicate of that non-reproducible one (JDK-8156107 : Eclipse crashes on Java8u92). This happened multiple times on the same day.
I was editing a Java source file while Eclipe suddenly crashed. I observed this behavior while running Eclipse Mars, without any specific scenario. Java 8u92 crashes in the C2 Compiler with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_92-b14)
